How your money is held
Plain English. No crypto knowledge required — just an honest explanation of where your balance lives and why we built it this way.
● The short version
Your TrenPlay balance is held as USDC, a stablecoin that's always worth exactly $1. It lives in a wallet that only you control — TrenPlay can't freeze or move it. Send your USDC to any Solana wallet or exchange (Coinbase, Phantom, etc.) in seconds, then cash out there. Direct bank withdrawals coming soon.
What is USDC?
USDC = Digital Dollars
One USDC always equals one US dollar — no price swings, no surprises. It's issued by Circle, a US-regulated company, and every USDC in circulation is backed 1:1 by cash and short-term US Treasuries held in segregated accounts.
Reserves are audited monthly and the reports are publicly available. If you have $50 in your TrenPlay balance, there's $50 of actual US dollars sitting in a bank account backing it.
Where does my money live?
Non-custodial
When you sign up, we use Privy to create a Solana wallet tied to your email. No seed phrase to memorize, no Phantom extension to install — it works like logging into any other app.
What matters is that the wallet is non-custodial: only you can sign transactions from it. TrenPlay can't move your funds, can't freeze your balance, and can't lock you out.
Even if we shut down tomorrow, your USDC is still in your wallet — you'd just install Phantom or another Solana wallet to access it. The only time your USDC moves is when you approve it: locking in a wager or sending to another wallet.
Why USDC instead of just dollars?
Most skill-gaming platforms hold your money in a pooled operating bank account. You see a number on a screen; the actual dollars are mixed in with the company's funds, and you only get them back through their withdrawal process — which often takes 5-14 business days and can be paused at any time.
USDC fixes three things
Speed
Match payouts settle in seconds, not days. No batch jobs, no pending periods.
Custody
Your unwagered balance stays in your wallet — only you can move it. When you enter a match, your stake moves into on-chain escrow and is released to the confirmed winner (or refunded) by our settlement process.
Transparency
Every match's escrow and payout is recorded on the Solana blockchain. Verify any transaction independently.
How do I cash out?
Send to any wallet or exchange in seconds — direct bank withdrawals coming soon.
To your bank
Direct bank withdrawals are coming soon. For now, send your USDC to an exchange like Coinbase and cash out to your bank from there.
Coming soonTo another wallet
Send your USDC directly to any Solana address — Phantom, Solflare, an exchange, anywhere. Settles in a few seconds.
No approvals, no waitingIs it safe? Can my balance lose value?
Your balance is denominated in dollars and stays in dollars. $50 today is $50 tomorrow, next month, and next year. USDC is not a volatile crypto like Bitcoin or Ethereum — it's engineered specifically to hold a $1 peg.
Two risks worth understanding
01Email access
Someone with access to your email could log into Privy and move funds — so use a strong password and enable 2FA on your email.
02Wrong address
Send USDC to the wrong address and it's irreversible, like a wire transfer. We added confirmation screens for all outbound transfers to make this hard to mistake.
Flat platform fee
What does TrenPlay charge?
A flat 7% platform fee on each match, taken from the prize pool — shown on every match-confirmation screen before you commit.
